Branch Awards

Our Awards

Pub of the Year
The branch Pub of the Year can be voted for by all CAMRA members registered with the branch. The pubs are shortlisted based on ‘WhatPub’ scoring – which is carried out by any CAMRA member visiting pubs during the year. The only way a pub can win this award is if people who drink there score the beers regularly on ‘WhatPub’ and then take part in the final scoring for Pub of the Year and visit each pub on the shortlist. This is also the first step in the shortlisting process that ultimately leads to CAMRA National Pub of the Year selection

Cider Pub of the Year
Similar to Pub of the Year but with a specific focus on serving real cider.

Club of the Year
Currently any club that meets the criteria set out by CAMRA nationally is included in the Club of the Year competition. This is also the first step in the shortlisting process that ultimately leads to CAMRA National Club of the Year selection.

Pub of Excellence
After the Pub of the Year the next 7 highest rated pubs are awarded a Pub of Excellence.

Community Pub Award
Pubs can be nominated for a Community Pub Award by any member for making a significant contribution to their community. All nominations are reviewed at the annual awards committee meeting.

Committed to Cask Award
Pubs and clubs can receive a Committed to Cask Award by showing they are consistently committed to serving high quality real ale.

In addition to these awards the branch may decide a pub, club, brewery or individual deserve recognition for the work they have done. Suggestions for these awards can be made by any member and will be considered at the annual awards committee meeting.
